Con- It smells exactly like what it sounds like, except worse.
Pro- After inserting an NG tube only to have the patient pull out the NG tube while crushing your fingers and spraying shit vomit all over himself and everywhere else, your night can only go uphill from there.
Oh the joys of a SBO. Nasty.
ReplyDeleteHad a patient start vomit feces on the operating table at the beginning of the surgery to resolve their SBO.
Mmm, sterile!
ReplyDeleteOne of my co-workers (who is an idiot) has told me multiple times that while suctioning patients with trachs he has had sputum fly into his mouth. I still don't understand what exactly he's doing.
ReplyDeletewhatever it is, he's doing it wrong. In any case, I think any reasonable person would wear after the first time they got secretions in their mouth, nasty.
ReplyDeleteNot to sound like a child but ewwwwwww!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah I don't understand how it gets in his mouth but I would definitely suggest he wear a mask. I also don't know why he feels the need to tell me about his incompetence.
ReplyDeleteNG tubes....I remember those fondly and hope to never see one again! ;)
